The Triumph of love è una piece di teatro ispirata dal lavoro del pittore rinascimentale Sandro Botticelli. Un’atto unico di 45 minuti per celebrare l’età dorata del rinascimento in Italia. Varcando una porta metaforica ci si ritrova in un’altra era sperimentando le fasi precedenti la realizzazione dei quadri di questo importante pittore, così come la creazione stessa e quello che avviene “dopo” il gesto pittorico di opere ineguagliabili come “La nascita di Venere”, “La Primavera” e altre. Si può guardare Botticelli al lavoro e seguirlo per le strade della Firenze rinascimentale, condividendo la passione dell’artista per la bella Simonetta.

Nel contesto del quartiere storico di Santa Croce, presso lo Spazio Alfieri la compagnia composta da 20 attori riprodurranno i quadri di Botticelli in stupefacenti “Tableaux Vivantes”, con splendidi costumi d’epoca che evocheranno i colori e l’ispirazione dell’artista, il tutto accompagnato da musiche rinascimentali suonate con l’arpa, la chitarra e percussioni.

Triumph of Love: The Botticelli Project A revolutionary theater piece inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s work, Triumph of Love is a 45-minute, one-act performance project celebrating love and the Golden Age of the Italian Renaissance. Enter a doorway to another age and experience the “before, during and after” of the pinnacle moments from such masterpieces as The Birth of Venus, The Primavera and more. Watch Botticelli in his workshop. Follow him into the streets of Florence. Hear the heart-wrenching tale of his passion for the great beauty Simonetta, and experience the Triumph of Love!
Performances will be held in the historic Santa Croce neighborhood and feature an ensemble of 20 actors dressed in lush costumes evoking the colors and brushstrokes from the painter’s palette. Harp, guitar and song enhance the experience as original arrangements of 15th and 16th century musical compositions are exquisitely performed. Don’t miss out – three nights only!
